I used to be an enthusiast but my interest waned.

I guess you'd call me an ex-tractor fan

I did wonder how long it would take!

I've got a 1962 David Brown 880c in the barn, another one of those little projects that one day I hope to make a start on.

It is funny this thread has popped up. I purchased my first vintage tractor a couple of weeks ago, this Little Grey Beast:

A 1950 Ferguson TED20 for those who don't know this icon. It's so much fun!

I'm looking for some accessories and implements for it if anyone knows of any or has any laying about.

Very nice Charlie, what do you wear on the other foot :D

Silly question, but you didn't buy this off a guy called Josh?

Very random, but no, it came from a guy called Tony. I do know a lad called Josh who did have one though, it would be a small world if it's the same guy!

It could be a small world, the guy who bought one of my Metro vans, had just sold a very late built Grey Fergie.

Anyways heres a photo of ours. Bought new by my father (probably still has his name on the logbook) so 1 owner from new. Still used (irregularly) on the farm back home, but most of the work is done by a (slightly) newer David Brown 1190

My dad started farming in Sufolk after the war (he was in the RAF and posted himself to a station in E Anglia so he could start looking around). He started off with a couple of horses - before I was born - and then bought a couple of Fordson Standards (petrol/TVO) which ran on "skeleton" rear wheels - not very practical for road work! He then acquired a new-ish Ferguson TE20 (reg no MEV 11 - does it still exist?) with a Perkins P3 engine conversion - very powerful for its day; it broke a couple of half-shafts due to the high torque available. Added to the collection were an Allis-Chalmers (model unknown) with a TVO engine and another TE20 with the Standard 4-cyl diesel engine and a MIL loader. The farm was sold in 1967 and I then spent my summer holidays working on a friend's 2000-acre arable farm, doing all the summer ploughing with a "County" 4-wd and a 3-furrow Ransomes TS84 (?memory?) reversible plough - the land was mostly boulder clay! Happy days. I have a box full of my dad's 8mm cine-films, taken on the farm and around Suffolk throughout the '50s and '60s - must get around to sorting them out and getting them onto CD/DVD; lots pof histroy there. I'm hoping to see the films he took of me and my brothers "playing" with an early 1930s Morris Minor 8 (flat rad with Riley ohc engine) for which he paid £10 - with log book! - and an Allard that he "acquired" from a local garage. It had a seized clutch, so we pushed it off with a tractor and drove it around the farm doing clutchless gear changes. Even happier days!

I may have come in contact with people that have very bad habits, could it be infectious ?
