Does anyone know if you can get sports cams for a 1993c900 t16s? Anyone know Kent cams? Any gains to be had? Thanks.

You can get different cams.

Abbott Racing and this place sell them.

Don't know anything about them either positive or negative.

You can also experiment with cams from early model T16s, 1985 and before I think.

There are a few topics on here discussing the benefits/detriments of various cams.

Someone with more info will be along shortly! :D I hope!

JUST A WORD OF CAUTION...DO NOT BE EXPECTING MASSIVE 'PERFORMANCE' GAINS, FROM JUST INSTALLING CAMSHAFTS.....

FIRST PORT OF CALL WOULD BE TO CHECK COMPRESSIONS,BEFORE STRIPPING THE ENGINE,CHECKING THE BORES,NEW PISTON RINGS,SHELL BEARINGS ETC....

IF THE TIMING CHAIN IS AT ALL WORN,THEN ANY GAIN YOU EXPECT FROM FITTING THE NEW 'CAMS' COULD WELL BE LOST ,DUE TO INCORRECT TIMING....

ONCE THE CHAIN,GUIDES ETC HAVE BEEN REPLACED,AND THE UNDERSIDE OF THE CYLINDER HEAD INSPECTED FOR CORROSION,AND A POSSIBLE SKIM....THEN ADJUSTABLE CAM-SPROCKETS SHOULD ALSO BE CONSIDERED TO RE-ALIGN THE TIMING MARKS....

ASIDE TO THIS,YOU CAN EXPECT JUST '5 BHP' FROM A 1MM OVERBORE ON THE PISTONS......

BIGGER TURBO'S,A CHANGE/PORTING OF CYLINDER HEADS,LARGER INJECTOR'S AND GENERALLY MAKING EVERYTHING 'FLOW' BETTER,ALL HELP'S TO PRODUCE MORE POWER......

BUT THEN, THE SERIOUS TUNER,ALWAYS HANKERS AFTER TORQUE............NOT POWER ?

ALWAYS RUN THE CAR ON THE 'ROLLING ROAD' BEFORE ANY MODS,AND GET A PRINTOUT......

THEN USE THE SAME ROLLING ROAD AFTERWARDS,TO GET AN ACCURATE PICTURE......

RAMMING MORE BOOST DOWN THE STANDARD 16V HEAD,JUST CREATES MORE HEAT,AND ALLOWS MORE DETONATION,WHICH KNOCKS BACK THE APC....

Standard cams are more than adequate to break the gearbox!
