As per the title I'm looking for the insert for the bumper of my 1978 99T. The rubber part is fine but the silver part is damaged.

It appears to be a silver coloured strip that runs under the rubber strip. Anyone got one out there? A complete perfect bumper would be ok too but shipping would be my problem.

Thanks, Jim.

Any chance of using chrome trim from Woolies? http://www.woolies-trim.co.uk/c-334-chrome-strips.aspx
In the old days we used stick on trim for the original mini's to go around the wheel arches and I wonder if you could adapt simular?

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll see if they have anything suitable.

It's not very obvious from the photos but the rubber strip fits into the backing part which has raised edges - in effect the rubber is in a wide groove.

Jim.

Hi Jim

These are as rare as hen's teeth. The very last one was sold by a Saab dealer in the UK around 2001 (I remember as I sought one out when I bought my 99T EMS turbo around then).

However a Dutch guy in a brown Saab 99 with Toppola camper extension at the 2013 National at Kettering had some that he had made up, although I don't have his details unfortunately.

Perhaps someone on the forum does?

If so, please let us both know, as I need some too!
