Forum rules

When you put a new thread up in the Workshop please put your car's year and model in the title, along with just a brief indicator of the problem.

Car Year - Car Model: Brief description of issue. EXAMPLE- 1999 9-3. Problems starting when hot

Please also add as much information as you can about the problem, to your post.

This will help us to help you, without having to ask basic details such as what car you have.

Threads with non-compliant titles will be moved to The Pit Lane (in which no replies can be posted, but the OP can edit the thread - upon which the thread will be released to the workshop forum)

Nb. Generic thread titles for truly generic issues that genuinely are not model or variant specific (such as "how do I change the spring in an forge wastegate actuator") are acceptable

**The first 5 posts for new users require individual moderator approval (which they will only get it if they are in line the rules of the forum). Please be patient and allow time for that to happen, and avoid duplicate postings.**

Leelac Saab Specialists in Stevenage Hertfordshire come highly rated by me. They've done some really good work for reasonable prices.

I'd recommend these guys in Surrey (Merstham) http://www.valleyautomotive.co.uk/

They look after my T16 900 and are very good and know their stuff.

I've also used Abbott Racing - a bit further afield but they are fantastic and always spend time with you. Definitely good for more difficult issues.

Hello all,
I believe in giving credit where it's due and its definitely due to this amazing Saab garage based in Glossop... Saabtec.
I've been ringing for small inexpensive selector and driveshaft seals etc.. Everytime they go above and beyond, with loads of advice even though I havent asked as aware of the small amounts being charged for these little bits.
I have trust issues with garages after some very bad experiences on other car types in the past..
Not with these folks.... Amazing......
Young lass called Lyndsey that works there, so so helpfull, 'nope let's make sure you're getting this right'.
Blown away, my faith is restored that there are companies out there with your cars best intetests at heart...
A heads up for any northerners looking for excellence and good prices...

Richard is well-known in Saab circles. He used to run the "Saab Clinic" page in the SOC "Driver" magazine. Perhaps he still does?

Still, always good to tell people when you've had good service. Some people only ever mention the bad experiences and keep the outstandingly good ones to themselves.

It's Lauren who works at Saabtec, and she also does the og9-3 register for the SOC. Also think she has picked up the tech corner bit too.

Agreed its a great garage!

They're all really nice people there, and know their stuff. One of the main reasons I keep buying Saabs is knowing they're just up the road and will definitely be able to sort it...

The really funny thing, is that they've got such a good local reputation that it seems every other person in that area drives a Saab. Not just the enthusiasts... the place is still crawling with them as daily drivers...

Can anyone recommend a good garage or Saab specialist in Coventry - West Midlands area?

Thanks.

I have just had my 900 classic serviced at WMSS in Birmingham. I am assuming they did a good job. Dealt with Geff, friendly guy who said he was not a technician so couldn't discuss my car any detail. Paid £285 for a full service and £100 to replace CV Boots. Also a £15 for a car to use while the service was being done.

They have a solid reputation but I would not call this an enthusiasts garage and they do a lot of other things apart from Saab. When I collected the car I asked to speak to the technician who did the service as it was a recent purchase and I wanted a bit of feedback regarding the general state of the car. He was polite enough but didn't want to talk about it. Understand he was probably busy.

No criticism of WMSS but I think in future I will look for a garage who are a bit more interested in the classic and earlier cars.
