Forum rules

When you put a new thread up in the Workshop please put your car's year and model in the title, along with just a brief indicator of the problem.

Car Year - Car Model: Brief description of issue. EXAMPLE- 1999 9-3. Problems starting when hot

Please also add as much information as you can about the problem, to your post.

This will help us to help you, without having to ask basic details such as what car you have.

Threads with non-compliant titles will be moved to The Pit Lane (in which no replies can be posted, but the OP can edit the thread - upon which the thread will be released to the workshop forum)

Nb. Generic thread titles for truly generic issues that genuinely are not model or variant specific (such as "how do I change the spring in an forge wastegate actuator") are acceptable

**The first 5 posts for new users require individual moderator approval (which they will only get it if they are in line the rules of the forum). Please be patient and allow time for that to happen, and avoid duplicate postings.**

Need new tyres this spring; it's time to change the winters that have been on for three years!

Recommendations anyone?

I cannot recommend Fulda sport controls any highly.

Brilliant so far on mine in 17 inch flavour. Reasonable value too.

You'll always get quite a variety of answers on this point. Personally, I've currently got goodyear eagle f1 asymmetric 2's fitted and they perform exceptionally well. The uniroyal rainsport 2's I had previously also performed well, but they wore quite quickly and were a little noisier than these goodyears. I wanted to try nokian Line but my garage didn't offer nokian. Also considering nokian weatherproof or michelin crossclimate all season tyres as they seem to manage to bridge the gap between summer and winters quite well.

Uniroyal Rainsports 3 here on my 9-3 Viggen. Good value and stick to the road both dry and wet conditions. Good value imho.

Nokian zLine. Better than the Goodyear last time I chose them.

+1 for Uniroyal Rainsport 3's
I had 4 fitted at the start of december and have been brilliant so far.
Much more traction on accelerating in the wet/damp, cornering is great too, as is braking.
At £80 each, fitted (235/45/17), I think they're pretty good value.
I found F1 autocentres to be the best price, just in case you were wondering

I never got on (bad wheel bearing noise) with my 2nd set of Goodyear Eagle Assymetric 2s so flogged them at 7mm and replaced with Avon Zv7 which I find very good (and cheap!) Hankook V12 Evo2 are a good tyre too in my opinion.

When I had an OG, I used Michelin Primacy but they didn't grip that well.

Definitely, have a look on eBa.y_tyre-store
I've never found Toyo's any cheaper, in fact just bought a set for SWMBO's
A class.
