Think I'd still prefer the grey Chris!

Seriously though, she's looking like she's getting there now! 8)

Terrific work, Chris. I like the new interior light fitting. Seems like someone may have been watching those home improvement programmes of a morning on the TV :D

Well played 8)

A Rivnut tool is like a pop riveter but has a threaded bit instead of a rivet, you put a threaded sleeve( M3,M4,M5,M6,M8) about half an inch long onto the bit then insert the sleeve into a hole in your metal then sqeeze the handles together and you have a captive nut ready to bolt whatever you want to your metal.

I will post photos later, these are a really handy tool and are available quite cheaply, they are ideal for replacing captive nuts for fixing wings etc back on.
Hope this helps.

This is the sort of thing, we use them at work for fixing threads into thin sheet steel.

Probably a daft question, but why have you moved the washer bottle.

IIRC it was because the original had melted...guessing he didn't want the same to happen to this one!

The washer bottle is in a rubbish place, I've replaced at least 3 on past cars that have melted!

Thanks Rob,no its not a daft question, and JohnSaab is right. I have learned from others, thats why I put it there :D :D .
If it looks half as good as the bottom picture I`ll be happy
And if I could afford it I would do the interior in leather, but black. 8)

These would look good with the old blue SAAB emlem on, until some scroat nicked them.

Looks good with no over riders on and even, just maybe, the bumpers satin black to give that retro rally look

Maybe, but at about £40 a pair?

The big bottle is difficult to get out but it only melts if you pull it up against a hot exhaust pipe. The position does keep the water nice and warm for winter washing though. It's also about 3 times the size of the new one.

Thats what I am going to do,spray the bumpers satin black and I might just put the outer sections of the bumpers on and leave the middle bit out, not made up my mind on that just yet, I may even get them powder coated.
Also I am painting the rear side window frames and the ears satin black and am thinking about doing the top of the front doors as well. The front air scoop has already been done satin black and will match up with the boot spoiler.

If you put the outer sections on only, they will pivet on the location bolts(from memory)even if they are very tight, if someone knocks them they will then hit the front wings. You would have to bolt a flat bar between the two so they are acting against each other I think.

I like the idea of the window frames and ears but not the front panel, painting the front panel seems to break the roundness of the front end, it makes it look empty, not finished - if you know what I mean! + if you do the bumpers black you will need the orange behind them to make a contrast, just my thoughts though. Its not much of a job to re-paint it back though.

Rob
