As has been discussed on another thread, the Hovercraft Museum in Lee on Solent (near Gosport in Hampshire) has the last remaining cross channel hovercrafts, as well as many others.

I'm proposing a meet at the museum for a Saturday in April/May.

I shall get in contact with them over the next few days to check their car parking facilities, and how amenable they are to cornering off an area for us to park.

This thread is to gauge interest so I can give them an idea of numbers.

Might be worth putting a link to this thread in the Hovercraft Thread in the coffee bar, this sub forum is fairly well hidden.

I'll be up for a HoverMeet.

This is for gauging interest only, and non-binding.

I would like to think I'm free but am half way through building an
extension at home. :)

Unfortunately, they don't open Sundays. Or any other day except Saturdays.

Any other weekday is fine by me, though I understand some folk have stuff to do Mon to Fri. I just work on Sat.

Sorry, I didn't say that very logically. They only open on Saturdays.

It doesn't seem to be run much like a business. Probably why they are struggling with rent.

One thing I never want to see close up is a hovercraft when out in the Solent, had a nasty passage from Chi harbour to Gosport in fog once  , nearly had a passage in my pants  but if they are on land no problem, would be interesting, but get home before it gets dark when the Gosport girls come out to play

Had a similarly brown trousered moment in my friend's jet boat. Set out from Warsash to take a trip over to the Island. Stupidly weren't paying attention when coming out from the Hamble into the Water, until we saw the big :cen: off Red Funnel ferry that was far too close for comfort

Sounds like someone who is talking from experience
