The classifieds section has had a small amount of re-vamping done to reflect more accurately the needs of the section.

Changes include:

Renaming of the "Current model range" and "Previous model range" sections for selling cars (to reflect the fact there is, sadly, no current model range). We have too many ads to combine the two forums, so for want of a better dividing line the two are now "GM Era" and "Pre-GM Era".

The "Older classics & collectables" remains a discrete forum. This forum is still (due to the specialist nature of the cars and the slower turnaround of adverts), a forum for both buying and selling of cars and parts.

The "Parts wanted" and "Parts for sale" stay as they were.

There is now a new "Cars Wanted" forum for people to ask for cars. This separation should both tidy up the "For Sale" forums, and also allow users to respond without breaking the rule of only buyers and sellers communicating that exists in the "For Sale" sections (so it is fine for people to add suggestions of cars they may have seen, to threads in this forum). Feel free to ask for non Saabs in here, but you must be specific. Threads such as "what shall I buy for £2K" should remain in the Coffee Bar.

There is now a new "Non-Saab Cars for sale" forum, something which has been requested many times in the past.

The Car Boot Sale section remains the platform for selling anything which does not fit into one of the above categories.

Late amend: There is now a "Free to collect" forum for you to GIVE away items, no strings attached, no compensation of any type required.

In order to help the moderation team effectively vet adverts (and responses) for compliance with the rules of the section (which only exist to make the section function effectively), we will be implementing a system by which all adverts and replies will be individually approved by the moderators. Forums this will apply to will be: GM Era - Cars for sale, Pre GM Era - Cars for sale, Parts for sale, Non-Saab cars for Sale, Car boot sale, Free to Collect.

Whilst the sections for cars & parts wanted (which includes the "Older Classics & Collectables" section) will not be subject to this restriction at this time, we would ask you to bear in mind that all posts responding to a request should be relevant to the advert.

We hope that everyone sees the merit of the changes, it is always our objective to make the forum more user-friendly and these changes have been made with that in mind. We do accept though that it's very dificult to please all members so some may not agree with all the changes that have been implemented. In that instance, please do bear in mind that all sections of the forum are continually reviewed. By all means feed back your thoughts (particualrly if you are a user of the sections concerned) and in time we will revisit and potentially make further amends to the section.
