After another inspection of the head, there still seems to be traces of oil leaking through exhaust valve ports so decided just to whip it off and refit another..
It wasn't the original head off that engine, sure it was one froggy gave me, thats 2 lots of stem seals its had, couple stud threads are ''Censored'', it's now in the scrap pile..
Quick clean, rebuild of another good one and rebuilt.. and refitted..

New issue cropped up wednesday morning whilst Fraser was taking a leisurely drive to work..
Was a wee bang noise and car only went on half throttle, still managed to drive ok.. checked to see what the problem was come lunchtime, thinking cable had come out but no, traced cable back to throttle body still connected, TB was at funny angle, then spotted the issue, TB had sheared off manifold as he thought but it's just the TB that has cracked clean off..
This was one I purchased a few years ago which some chap enlarged, he does various TB but now thinking it's been taken out to far as the wall seems to be paper thin now.. unless it's been dropped or knocked sometime..
So any easy fix again and back on the road.. It's clocking up the miles now..

That is very thin
Is there really that much advantage in going to a bigger diameter throttle?

Without trying to teach you to suck eggs, I think you may benefit from a hose that flexes at the throttle end of the delivery pipe.

No Rich, I don't think there is any gain with the wider throttle body.. there is a silicone hose there also
