2009 93 Vector convertible - amplifier replacement

Hi,

I have recently acquired the above car and have a problem with the audio.
There is a constant clicking sound from the right-hand channel, with both radio and CD, that is audible even with the engine turned off. I have two questions:

- Has anyone else experienced this fault and reolved it?
- I suspect that I may need to replace the amplifier. Am I right in thinking that it is only the head unit that is 'married' to the car's VIN and not the amplifier, and that I can change it without any recoding issues?

Sorry for the late reply. No doubt you have sorted it by now. I had exactly the same and it is the amp. I swapped mine for a used one and all is perfect.
